On saturday, while at work, I recieved a phone call from Dalton and my dad. They were sitting in the parking lot at the power plant. Appearently, Dalton wanted to go see dad at work, so grandpa loaded him up and drove him 30 miles out in the desert to surprise me.

Cliff Lake

On friday, we decided it would be fun to take a trip into Cliff Lake. Here's a pic of Dalton and Grandpa getting ready for the wheeler ride in.

Here's one of the few fish we did catch. I think our success may have been due to the hundred or so rocks Dalton (and dad) choose to throw into the lake. The trip wasn't about the fishing, we were just there to have a good ole' time.

After a little nap, he was good to go for the rest of the ride back to the truck.

Oryx Hunt

After several years of putting in, I was finally able to draw a once-in-a-lifetime Oryx tag for the Rhodes Canyon section of the White Sands Missle Range.

We were able to harvest a very nice bull.

Yesterday, the girls had another check-up w/ Dr B. (and shots) They are both doing GREAT. Addison is up to 10 lbs 6 oz and Emree is 11 lbs 13 oz. They are both starting to show their personalities the past week w/ smiles and giggles.

Grizzly Ridge Camping Trip

Last fall we bought a small fishing boat, but never got the chance to put it in the water. Finally, after getting the girls home and settled, Dalton and I were able to go fishing. We went to Steinaker and had a GREAT time!!! Here is a picture of Dalton's first bluegill.

Well....after 4 months, the day we had all hoped for, finally came......the day I could bring my babies home. (Addison, Emree, and Kelli) The family put up welcome home signs, and ballons all up the drive-way. (not to mention, home-made chicken noodle soup, potato salad, jello salad, a welcome home cake, diaper, wipes, flowers...and the list goes on)
Sorry the pictures aren't in order, but here are Addi and Em ready to go. Addi had to go home in a car bed because she hadn't reached the 5 pound mark.

3 weeks old

It's hard to believe, but our baby girls are 3 weeks old today. (wednesday) Both are doing extremely well and have had little to no setbacks. (so far,... knock on wood!!) They are both over the 3 pound mark, eating fortified mommy milk, and getting cuter by the day.

BABIES UPDATE

Well.....to make a long story short, are babies were delivered c-section on April 1st (our little joksters) @ 21:06 and 21:08. Gestationally, they were @ 29&1 weeks. Addison Taylor was first and weighed 2 lbs 9 oz and was 14 1/2 " long. Emree Ann weighed 2 lbs 15 oz and was 15 3/4" long. They were immediately placed in the care of the NICU and are doing GREAT!! (Did I mention...GREAT!?!)
In the last few days they have transitioned from rooms 1 to 2 to 5. Both are being feed mommy milk, and breathing on their own without the need for the vent. (Em was on the vent for a few hours, but was quickly breathing on her own) Em has been on phototherapy the last few days because of some bruising and they put Addi on it yesterday because of her bilirubin count. Both have responded well to the treatment and their levels are well below the limits. I will try to get some pictures downloaded in the next few days and let you see our little angles.
Thanks again to everyone for your thoughts, prayers, calls, flowers, visits, ect......we really appreciate it!!!

Pregnancy update

Once again, I thought I should take some time and let everyone know how things are progressing. THANKFULLY, we have made it 3+ weeks since this started and are in a much better place. (not out of the woods, but better) As of today, we are at the 26 and 5 mark (that's hospital lingo for almost 27 weeks.....lol) A few days ago, we had an ultrasound and the babies are doing great and at or above the 2 pound mark . Definitely small, but well on their way. They also "checked" Kelli and it doesn't appear that she has dialated anymore or that her cervix has changed. We did have a little bit of a scare on wednesday as they wanted to run a "test" and take Kelli off the medication (Nifedipine) to see how she did. Well......it didn't take but a day and she started having contractions to the tune of every 2 minutes. They rushed us over to the labor and delivery (L & D) department just in case and they were able to juice her up and get the contractions controlled.
We still have our sights set on our next goal of 28 weeks, but are thankful for every passing day.
I should also mention that we felt like we should give our little girls some names as "Baby A" and "Baby B" just wasn't cut'n it anymore. So.....we named "Baby A" Addison Taylor and "Baby B" Emree Ann.
I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their thoughts and prayers, the flowers, the phone calls, and the visits.......It means more than words can express!!!

Dear Friends and Family,

I thought I should take a few minutes and let everyone know what has been going on the past few days. Wednesday, Kelli and I had a routine doctors appointment in Roosevelt. As a precaution, Dr Nolte wanted us to head over to the OB department @ UBMC to see if Kelli was having any contractions as she was a little dialated. (1cm). Well, it turns out she was. Not that Braxton-Hicks contactions are a big deal, but she was having several an hour. (most of which she could not feel) They gave her some medication and it appears to be controlling them. After an overnight stay, and another check by Dr Nolte on thursday morning, he felt she had dilated a little more during the night. (2cm) and she was still needing medication to control the contractions.

After a few conversations, we felt it would be much better and safer to get Kelli (and our precious little baby girls) to the city in the unlikely event that we deliver early. (mind you, we are only at the end of our 23rd week) So,... (although this sounds dramatic), they felt it would be best to send out the U of U neonatal Life-Flight team in the helicopter for an express trip to the city.

I followed a few hours later and spent the night with her at the U of U Medical Center in their high risk labor/delivery department. They monitored her all night and the babies every 2 hours and I'm happy to say that everything appears to be okay for now. It does not appear that she has dialated anymore and they are still able to keep the contractions at bay. At this time they feel she is "stable" and have moved us into another room and wing for 100% bed rest. So, I guess all things considered, things are going good.....BUT, we need time to pass....Our first goal will be 24 weeks, then 28 and then 32+. Our intent is to keep Kelli out here for the duration of the pregnancy which with any luck will be a very boring and uneventfull 3 1/2 months. I will be traveling back and forth as needed for work and to take care of our little boy.

A few weeks ago, we decided it would be a good idea to get out of town for a few days. (while we still could with the twins coming) Since we hadn't been there for a few years, we decided on Las Vegas. We also thought it would be a great opportunity to get my mom and dad out of town. (and sis-in-law Kami)

My dad (Max) and his friend Buck (Dave) finally drew late season Book Cliffs elk tags. The big bulls were hard to find this time of the year which made the hunting pretty difficult.Enjoying a nice camp fire.

After 6 hard days of hunting, we were finally able to put a bull on the ground. He wasn't "the toad" we were hoping for, but a trophy none the less.

We loaded the bull up on the 4-wheeler and headed out.

Kelli and I went to our first doctors appointment and found out that we are going to be blessed with TWINS. Mommy may still be in shock, but daddy seems to be doing fine.

My dad has a late season limited entry bull elk tag for the Book Cliffs.....SO, we decided it would be a good idea (and fun) to do a little practicing before the big day. I set up several targets ranging from 100 to 450 yards. As you can see, this one @ 250 yards got smoked a few times

Kelli and I are excited to announce that we are expecting our second child.

I thought it would be fun to take a drive and have a little picnic after Kelli and Dalton got home from work and pre-school. So, when they did, we piled in the truck and ended up in Whiterocks Canyon. It was a quick trip, but a nice get-a-way.

From the entrance to the canyon, you would never guess it was so beautiful a few miles up the road.

Mud Bog and Monster Trucks

We took Dalton to his first (redneck) mud-bog and monster truck event. Although the first truck was a bit loud, the rest of the show was "AWESOME...YES"!!!

Borah Peak Trip (Idaho)

My buddy Dave and I decided it was time to knock another "state high point" off the list, so we headed to Idaho. On our way there, we stopped and spent some time @ Craters of the moon.

The lava tubes and other caves felt great as the temp was wayyyyy cooler then the ambient 80's. There was actually ice in Boy Scout Cave.
After about 450 miles, we were finally at the Mt Borah trail head.
The climb/hike was only about 8 miles round trip, but had an elevation gain of over 5,100 feet. This paticular section of the climb was referred to as "chicken out ridge".....

On our return trip, we stopped in Twin Falls and checked out Shoshone Falls. While we were in Twin Falls, we lucked in to seeing two guys base jump off the Snake River Bridge. (crazy)

Uintah County Fair

This last week was the Uintah County Fair. Although we weren't able to attend all the events, we were able to go to a few of them. Here are some pictures of the fun.

Of course driving the monster truck was a big hit.
The night finished off with a concert by Daryle Singletary and Joe Nichols.

El Diente (14,159') and Mt Sneffels (14,150')

This past weekend, my buddy Alan B. and I decided to see if we could add a few more summits to our list of 14ers. When the weekend came to a close, El Diente and Mt Sneffles were checked off the list!!! This was the couloir we chose to climb to gain the ridge on El Diente.
As you can see, the slope was pretty steep (approx. 45-50 degrees) definitely requiring crampons and a mountaineering axe.

Camping @ Bassett Springs

This past week (or two) we have had our trailer and my mom and dad's trailer up on "the mountain" @ Bassett Springs. Kelli and my dad cooking breakfast.Playing a friendly game of Holey board.
