Dad's late season elk hunt

My dad (Max) and his friend Buck (Dave) finally drew late season Book Cliffs elk tags. The big bulls were hard to find this time of the year which made the hunting pretty difficult.Enjoying a nice camp fire.

My dad and buck.

I love this picture of my dad.
After 6 hard days of hunting, we were finally able to put a bull on the ground. He wasn't "the toad" we were hoping for, but a trophy none the less.

We loaded the bull up on the 4-wheeler and headed out.

Back at the truck.

Here is a little video of our trip back to the truck.

Dalton (VIP)

Dalton was VIP of his pre-school class on Thursday.
Grandpa and daddy were in the Bookcliffs elk hunting, but took a break in the action for the special day.
Grandpa's boy!!!
Dalton lead the class in saying the Pledge, mommy talked to the class and told them why Dalton was such a special boy, and then the class sang him a song.

Kelli and I went to our first doctors appointment and found out that we are going to be blessed with TWINS. Mommy may still be in shock, but daddy seems to be doing fine.

More Shooting Fun

My buddy Chad was in Vernal this last week for business, so while he was here, we decided to waste a little lead Chad shooting my 17HMR

Target Practice

My dad has a late season limited entry bull elk tag for the Book Cliffs.....SO, we decided it would be a good idea (and fun) to do a little practicing before the big day. I set up several targets ranging from 100 to 450 yards. As you can see, this one @ 250 yards got smoked a few times

And this one at 300 yards
The buffalo on the left got 2 new holes in his head
This is what happens when you get a tad close to the scope........

GREAT NEWS

Kelli and I are excited to announce that we are expecting our second child.

We tried to come up with a fun way of telling the grandparents, so this is what we made. Not sure if it was the most creative, but it worked just the same.

After work picnic

I thought it would be fun to take a drive and have a little picnic after Kelli and Dalton got home from work and pre-school. So, when they did, we piled in the truck and ended up in Whiterocks Canyon. It was a quick trip, but a nice get-a-way.

From the entrance to the canyon, you would never guess it was so beautiful a few miles up the road.
More stream pictures......we have taken several this year with the same background.
Daddy's buddy

Near the end of the road we came across several trees that had recently been fallen by beavers.
